Brilliant suggestions! It appears I have a number of books to buy. Thank you so much, dear Peregrinus.

I would so love that Jessica! It’s always wonderful to “meet” others with a similar love (obsession?) for books and learning. Where are you located?

May I also recommend The Discarded Image by C.S. Lewis? It's annotated introduction to the major Classical influences on Medieval and Renaissance thought. It's considered a bit dated by some, but it's highly readable.

You're an inspiration! I'm trying to create a booklist myself but there are so many...

You are too kind, as always.

Please do it as you go along. I really want to read your architecture and art bibliography. Then I plan to plunder it . . .

Great list! Delighted to see my old professor, Fr. Massa, cited. A solid teacher and good man. A bit off-topic: have you ever read Schurhammer’s magisterial four volumes on FX? It’s been on my list to track down for years.

I have not read Schurhammer. The to-read list has always been enormous and it’s never made it near the read-now zone. Let me know about it when you track it down.

I’m grateful for your compliment and happy you enjoyed my Books thing. Take care.

By the way, most, of not all, the old stuff is well out of copyright and can be found on the interweb.
